This historical building is central to Dublin's and Ireland's heritage, and has been continually updated to create a blend of fascinating industrial tradition with a contemporary edge. This building brings to life the rich heritage of Guinness - telling the story from its origins at St.James Gate in Dublin to its growth as a global brand, known all around the world.
Atrium and Ground Floor: Your experience starts at the bottom of the world's largest pint glass, which rises up through the center of the 7 story building. If full, the giant pint glass atrium would hold 14.3 Million pints of Guinness. At the bottom of the glass atrium you will see the 9000 year lease that founder Arthur Guinness signed on the St James Gate Brewery in Dublin - the lease marks the beginning of the Guinness story and also the beginning of your journey through the world of Guinness.
First Floor: The virtual master brewer guides you step by step through the Brewing Process. Old brewing equipment from the beginning of the 20th Century up to 1950's is on display here.
Second Floor: The Guinness Tasting Rooms are located on the second floor and it's here where visitors will receive their first taste of Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse. Please not that you must be over 18 to enter this part of the experience as that is the legal drinking age in Ireland. This is a multi-sensory experience designed to stimulate the senses. You will be taken to the Velvet Lounge where a taste measure of Guinness will be served and you will learn how to taste Guinness using a special tasting technique.
Third Floor: Here you will find the history of Guinness Advertising containing branded memorabilia and the stories of popular icons from Toucan to the Guinness Surfers. You can also watch a selection of Guinness TV ads which have made the brand a well-known Irish symbol in every corner of the globe.
Fourth Floor: The forth floor is the global floor and one of the most interactive areas of the Storehouse experience. It is here where you will find the Guinness Academy where you can learn the six steps to crafting the perfect pint of Guinness and the Guinness tasting exhibition.
Fifth Floor: The Guinness and Food experience: Food on Five! Enjoy newly refurbished restaurants with menus using Guinness as their key ingredient! Delicious.
Seventh Floor: The Gravity Bar - You have finally reached the head of the pint. This is where you will receive your complimentary pint of Guinness beer. Relax and enjoy the uninterrupted panoramic views across Dublin City - it really is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Dublin.
